You Play Ball Like a Girl
2002, January 13 - 9:37 p.m.

I took a few tests today that I found from Katzy's diary.

You're Yuna. You're hardworking and honest, and also a little naive. You can easily be lied to, but in the end your friends will look out for you. Kind and loving you'd never hurt a fly. You'd be willing to do anything to help others, even if it means some personal sacrafices for you.
Which Final Fantasy X Character would YOU be? Take thetest.

And then there is the matter of the Lord of the Rings.

You are Gandalf

You're a wise old bird, aren't you? Like Gandalf you have a knack for clarity of vision. You see the whole farmyard, when everyone else is focusing on the small grain.

Of course this can be a terrible responsibility. And it can be extremely frustrating watching people flap merrily towards the biggest mistake of their lives and not being able to stop them. You see, they're not always grateful for the tip-off and, well, it's their loss and there's nothing you can do anyway.

No, you're not God, but you can offer good advice and often it's compelling enough that people actually take it. But it's lonely on top of the roost, isn't it? It's rather like being parent to a very large brood of children, and sometimes you find yourself being rather sharp with them. Because it's a thankless task and one built on self-sacrifice, but like any mother hen, your chiding pecks are only to set your chicks straight.

Still, the rewards are evident in the reverence people hold you in, the adulation they exhibit and, well, let's be straight here, that little touch of fear they feel for you. Nuff respect.

Brent got the Elven Queen, Galadriel. He was a little shocked at being a woman and neither of us laughed at me being male. Funny, isn't it? Women really are considered to be inferior, even by the most feminist of men. It's fine that I should be Gandalf, the wise old male wizard, but for Brent to be Galadriel, the powerful, Elven queen..it's almost laughable, just because she is female. Brent was the one who pointed this all out; it having cemented my views on the world viewing women as inferior whether they mean to or not.

"You play ball like a girl."
