The Rules
2002, July 16 - 10:40 p.m.

I just had a 12 hour day.

I spent a groulish 8 hours at the Days Inn and then another 3 and a half at Pita Pazzaz. The half hour is how long it took for my uncle to come and get me and bring me to Pita Pazzaz.

The 8 hours were rough. Now I am going to say something and I hope everyone listens. Be kind to your hotel rooms. Yes there is maid service but we are not paid nearly enough for the crap we have to clean. And tip us. A dollar or two is sufficient. It's a thank you for the clean room you walked into, if you're spending the night again, it's a thank you for tidying the room in your absence (expecially on a time contraining scheduale) and it's brightens our day to know that we were given a shred of thought. We are not cleaning machines, we get tired, we have over a dozen other rooms to clean and it's physically challenging work.

Do:

*Leave the beds completetly untucked

*tip

Easy enough, yes?

Do Not:

-Dye hair in bathroom

-Blow snot and flegm into garbage pail

-empty liquids into garbage pail and then empty contents of ashtray in to pail as well.

-Leave bottles of booze all over room. If you must drink then put the empties back in the box. At least leave the box if this sounds like too much work.

-Throw up into garbage pail. This is especially insulting if toilet is right beside pail.

-Leave piles of pennies. Pennies are useful to no one.

-remove things from room and neglect to bring them back

-cut hair and leave hair all over floor. Maid has to scrub floors on hands and knees with a cloth as it is to scoop up remanding pubic hairs. Do not complicate maid's life.

-Leave half full drink laying around. Empty them and place them in apporpriate place; garbage or recycling. That's what they are there for.

All these things happen and more. People are bastards. Don't be one of them. Treat your maid with respect!
